A group of UCE/VSSUT alumni called the ‘Friends of VSSUT’ joined hands to form a coalition to help mitigate some of the financial struggles of current VSSUT Btech students by instituting a peer funded scholarship program. We do realize that it’s a small start and we may not be able to extend a helping hand to all deserving students. But we believe this small start will someday coalesce into a bigger effort and we will be able help more students in the future.

WHO FUNDS THE SCHOLARSHIPS

DO STUDENTS NEED TO PAY THE MONEY BACK.
NO. There is no obligations associated with these scholarships. Our principle is based on the idea of ‘Paying it forward’. We hope the recipients, once they stand on their feet, will help others and by doing that they will pay it forward.
HOW ARE THE STUDENTS SELECTED
From a pool of online applications, students are selected based on their financial need.
HOW ARE THE SCHOLARSHIPS DISBURSED
Money is transferred to students’ bank accounts electronically.
HOW MANY SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED EACH SEMESTER
There is no fixed number. It’s decided based on the funds available every year and the number of applicants.
DO ‘FRIENDS OF VSSUT SCHOLARSHIP’ HAVE A FORMAL ASSOCIATION WITH VSSUT UNIVERSITY

WHAT’S THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING
Applications are reviewed when they are submitted. Final decisions are made a few weeks before a semester starts. There is no hard deadline. Late applications automatically get considered for the next semester.
